Inspection Laboratory
Accredited inspection of ultrasound imaging systems. Independent, brand- and model-agnostic, on-site assessment under TS EN ISO/IEC 17020.
Accredited inspection, reliable imaging
Active in the test, control and calibration of medical devices since 1997, Dijital Teknoloji Servisi (DTS) performs inspection of ultrasound (US) imaging systems within its Inspection Laboratory. Our inspection activities are accredited by TÜRKAK to the TS EN ISO/IEC 17020 standard (AB-0769).
Inspection is a conformity assessment activity that evaluates a device’s real clinical performance, image quality and safety parameters against objective criteria with third-party independence. It is carried out independently of the manufacturer’s service and the results are documented in an accredited inspection report.
All inspections are performed on-site at the healthcare facility where the device is located, so equipment is assessed under real operating conditions without being taken out of service for long periods.
- TS EN ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation (AB-0769)
- Brand- and model-agnostic assessment
- Independent, impartial of the manufacturer’s service
- On-site service, nationwide coverage

Inspection of ultrasound imaging systems
All brands and models are assessed, accredited, against the relevant standards and acceptance criteria.

Key criteria assessed
During inspection, the core performance parameters affecting image quality and device safety are checked.
- Image quality and resolution assessment
- Geometric accuracy and distance-measurement consistency
- Grey-scale / contrast and uniformity
- Probe (transducer) integrity and dead-element check
- Penetration depth and sensitivity
- General device and patient safety parameters
Why is inspection necessary?
Ultrasound devices produce the images on which accurate diagnosis is based. Over time, probe wear, calibration drift or component ageing can degrade image quality unnoticed; regular inspection surfaces these risks early.
Image quality
By measuring parameters such as resolution, contrast and uniformity, it is objectively verified that the imaging chain performs as expected.
Diagnostic reliability
Confirming geometric accuracy and measurement consistency ensures clinical decisions rest on reliable, reproducible images.
Patient safety
Assessing device and probe safety reduces the risk of misdiagnosis and unnecessary repeat examinations, directly supporting patient safety.
TÜRKAK AB-0769 accreditation

How the inspection process works
From intake of the request to delivery of the accredited report, we follow a defined, traceable and impartial process.
- 01
Request & planning
The application is received via the Inspection Request Form; the device inventory and an on-site appointment are scheduled.
- 02
Preparation
Device details, scope, the method to be applied and the acceptance criteria are confirmed before inspection.
- 03
On-site inspection
Certified specialists assess image quality and safety parameters on-site using reference equipment.
- 04
Evaluation
Results are compared against the relevant standard and acceptance criteria to reach a conformity decision.
- 05
Accredited report
Results are documented in an accredited inspection report; improvement recommendations are shared where needed.
